Project Update: Change is Constant

You may have noticed that there wasn’t any new content published in a while (months). Primary culprit is lack of time to focus on this project. It’s been a challenge to try and focus the broken fragments of time to serve the purposes of this project.

When I started this project, I had a clear vision for the project. That hasn’t changed. However, the vehicle I chose to deliver the project, a series of foundational articles and blog posts, turned out to be a challenge. Two reasons behind that.

First, it takes time and effort to go from an idea bouncing in your head to a well written, cogent article. Nobody likes to read a dry post full of facts and perspectives. You need to tell a story. Storytelling is an art you learn over time after sufficient investment of time and focus.

Second, the nature of content consumption has changed in the last few years. A typical content consumer is more likely to get it through a short form video or audio, through TikTok, Instagram, Instagram Reels, YouTube, etc. Or, when people are on the go, they are listening to the radio or podcasts. And then there is social media, news and blogs to fill time when you are able to read. In all of these forms, there is a very very long tail. A few popular attention grabbers and a billion wannabe content producers struggling for attention. As a new blog based project focused on a small group, this project’s content is clearly in the tail end of the very long tail. Not moving the needle for all the effort that went into it.

So I have decided to pivot to deliver content through GPT based agents (yes, Gen AI — that makes my marketing department happy). It’s a natural pivot for this type of project. GPTs such as ChatGPT, Llama, Gemini, Anthropic, or Mistral have evolved to become powerful storehouses of knowledge. They already have the content. I have the perspective, framework, and a conceptual foundation I can use to shape that content. Why not put in the technical and knowledge engineering effort to create an agent to deliver content interactively, on demand? That will free me to focus on streamlining my perspectives and foundational principles while leveraging the enormous power of GPTs to generate content. It doesn’t happen naturally. Some assembly required.

I’ll focus my efforts on this project towards building such an agent. When a minimum viable product (MVP) is ready to meet the world, I will share it with you. I’ll keep this site up unchanged until that time.
