Aspirations to be Met

Sapling aspiring to grow into a mighty tree

A sapling aspiring to be a giant tree

Anna lived in a charming suburban neighborhood, and everyone knew her because of her eco-friendly choices. As a child, she organized community clean-ups and pushed for recycling programs in her school. She had a strong, consistent passion for saving the planet. So, no one raised an eyebrow when she quickly warmed up to electric vehicles (EVs).

As EVs started to go mainstream, one day Anna watched an advertisement for an EV. The EV advertisement sparked Anna’s interest the moment she saw it. She believed it made sense to drive a car that used electricity instead of fossil fuels. She loved their sleek look, quiet engines, and the promise of cutting down carbon emissions.

People around her had many questions about EVs. They would ask, “How often do you charge it?” or even joke, “Does it come with a super-long cord?” But Anna, always the green advocate, answered their questions enthusiastically with a big smile.

Aspirations to be Met

When Anna decided to buy her first car, she knew what she wanted. The day she drove her first EV home felt like a quiet victory. Every trip in her new car seemed like a step towards a brighter future. She enjoyed the gentle hum of the engine, the lack of exhaust fumes, and the smoothness of the ride. To Anna, her EV wasn’t just a car; it was a statement of her aspirations for a sustainable world.

Many of us have dreams and aspirations like Anna’s. They might not always revolve around the environment. Our dreams can touch different parts of our lives: the things we buy, the brands we like, the jobs we do, and how we live. We need to recognize and value these dreams. They don’t just guide our choices; they show who we truly are.

“Aspirations to be Met” in Our Project

A Simple Project focuses on helping people make progress in their lives by championing simplicity as a remedy for the 3 Cs: Complexity, Complication, and Confusion. One of our main tools is assisting people in recognizing their dreams and aspirations.

When we discuss various topics, we use the Aspirations to be Met and Tasks to Do concepts. For example, to help simplify the process of buying a car, we can identify all the tasks to do and aspirations to be met with that purchase. This approach makes it easier to decide which car to buy. Understanding and acknowledging ones aspirations helps us gain clarity. With clarity, setting priorities and making choices becomes much simpler.
